About Us

Byron is a one form entry primary school with a SureStart Children’s Centre serving the community of Old Coulsdon.

Our children are aged from 4 to 11 and together with our attached Pre-School and After School Club, we are able to offer on site child care for children from 2½ to 11, from 8am – 6pm all year round.

We are located in a spacious, extensive and picturesque setting overlooking Farthing Downs. Our children benefit from having two large playgrounds, a field, allotments, an ICT suite, a newly equipped Reception play area and a wide range of extra-curricular activities and after school clubs.

Byron is a happy, caring school with a friendly family atmosphere. We believe that the partnership between home and school is vital in supporting children’s learning and we pride ourselves on being a listening school which actively encourages parental involvement.

Every Byron child is given the skills and encouragement to enjoy life and learning to the full through our high expectations, good quality teaching and stimulating learning environment.
